1. Grade
You will get a good grade if you follow these instructions.
2. Write it yourself
Copy and you will fail.
You can quote sources within your writing, but you must use quotation marks, and you must show where the quote came from. For example:
3. Write in English
If it looks like machine translation, you will fail.
4. Subject
Choose a topic presenting an opinion, then argue for that opinion. For example, use one of the proposals we have been debating in class.
5. Format
Submit online within eALPS. Use word (.doc) or text (.txt) format.
6. Plan
You are free to plan and structure your writing as you please. Here is a rough plan if it will help:
a) Introduction
b) First argument for your proposal
Support for the argument with evidence
c) Second argument against your proposal
Support for the argument with evidence
d) One or two arguments people may give against your proposal
Reasons why those arguments are wrong
e) Conclusion
f) References (alphabetical list of texts or websites where your information came from)
7. Word limit
No more than 1,000 words
